When to add a centre brace

For rectangular/elongated formats where the longest side is > 120 cm. From 60 cm upwards, each bar includes a slot the brace locks into.

When to use a cross

For (near) square canvases with both sides > 120 cm. Two slotted braces interlock to form a cross and distribute tension evenly. For frames > 2 m we recommend a double cross (custom quote).

Ordering tips

Museum 45×44 mm bars are sold individually. For one frame order 2 × length A + 2 × length B, then add a centre brace or cross as needed.

• 100 × 200 cm (rectangular): 2 × 100 + 2 × 200 cm + brace 140 cm.
• 160 × 160 cm (near square): 4 × 160 cm + cross 160 × 160 cm.
• Canvas overlap: at least +6 cm per side beyond the frame size.

What does “with slot” mean?

The bar has a machined slot for a centre brace or two slotted braces forming a cross. The interlock works like a puzzle.

Is assembly easy?

Yes. The 9 mm dowel joint assembles square and firm. Tap into place with a rubber mallet. No glue or nails. Wedges included.

Can I mix profiles?

Use bars from the same series/size (Museum 45×44 mm) for perfect fit.

Which canvases fit?
